Tech scholarships refer to funding — full or partial — for, you guessed it, tech-related degree-level programmes or otherwise. If you want to learn how to build fast and reliable communication systems, medical equipment to save millions of lives, efficient devices to help us beat the challenges of climate change — these are the programmes for you. With tech scholarships, everyone — regardless of their financial standing — have the chance to leave an important imprint on the world. Below we take a look at some that might be of interest, especially for those who are looking to study abroad:

University of the People

The University of the People is a revolution in education — it is the world’s first online, tuition-free, non-profit and accredited uni. It offers a two-year associate and four-year bachelor’s degree programme in computer science and health science. To get accepted? Students need to have graduated from high school and have access to a computer and the internet. The deadline to apply for this programme falls on March 27, 2021. 

Wells Mountain Foundation 

This programme is directed at those from a developing country to study in their home country or a neighbouring one. Those interested need to be keen on pursuing an undergraduate’s degree that will best help their local communities in health sciences, information technology, engineering and more. All participants are required to volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours a year.

University of Twente Scholarships 

The University of Twente has tech scholarships for students from both European countries and non-European countries who want to study for an MSc at this institution in the Netherlands. Once you apply for an MSc programme, you can then apply for a scholarship. The deadline for the second round of application is May 1, 2021.

Australian National University College of Engineering & Computer Science international postgraduate excellence scholarship

This scholarship is available to international students who want to take on a master’s in engineering and computer science. The main objective of this programme is to acknowledge the outstanding academic performance of the diverse student body joining this uni by funding their studies. The deadline to apply for the second semester is May 1 of this year.

Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships

The Scottish Government is offering this scholarship programme to those who want to study a full-time master’s in Scotland in areas of science, technology and medical sciences. It is open to students from Canada, China, India, Japan, Pakistan and the US. The deadline for this is May 28, 2021.

GreyCampus scholarships for women

GreyCampus, a leading provider of online programmes for career growth, have announced that they are offering 100 scholarships for women to take up  programmes in data science and development. These programmes are six months long and intensive, making sure women acquire in-demand skills for a great career through classes, quizzes, labs, projects and mentorship. The deadline to apply for this is March 31, 2021.
