As school-leavers restructure their university plans to fit the new normal, many will be pleased to hear that they can still pursue the International Foundation Programme (IFP) online.

That’s right — Bristol International College (BIC), a University of London Recognised Teaching Centre, will offer the IFP online beginning September 2020.

This unique programme allows school-leavers to complete a foundation course in under a year. Upon completing this pre-university programme, you will be awarded the University of London International Foundation Certificate.

This pathway programme has granted many international students entry into top UK universities such as King’s College London, CASS Business School, University of Manchester and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

According to BIC’s CEO John Milne, “The ‘IFP Online’ has the full support and backing of the University of London which will ensure the high standards and quality of education while allowing the students to study in the comfort and safety of their own homes.”

So, if you are 16 to 18 years old with plans to study abroad at a UK university, this is the right time to begin your journey.

Here are the top five reasons you should enrol in the online IFP:

1. Fast-track your entry into leading UK universities

85 percent of students who take the IFP each year pass the University of London exams. All of these students go on to pursue their university degree not just in the UK, but in leading institutions worldwide.

With BIC’s online IFP, international students can make full use of their time at home to prepare for the rigours of higher education.

Choose to study four of the seven available courses: Business and Management, Mathematics and Statistics, Pure Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and Finance, International Relations, and Law.

Similar to the on-site programme, the online IFP will take place over eight months beginning Monday, September 7, 2020.

Students will go through a full 4-day induction beginning 1 September. This way, you can start the term familiar with the virtual learning environment.

2. A first-class virtual learning environment

Highly-qualified, experienced online tutors will deliver a blended programme of live and recorded lessons (75%:25%) via the tried and tested Classin Online Classroom learning platform. Every live lesson will be recorded so that students can review them at their own pace.

Additionally, you will gain exclusive access to the University of London’s online library and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

There will also be weekly seminars in small groups, which require you to maintain a healthy level of interaction with course mates throughout the programme, as well as one to one tutorials for assessing each student’s individual progress and needs.

3. Affordable online module

One major benefit of studying the IFP online is the reduced cost. Without the visa, travel, and accommodation expenditure, it is 70 percent cheaper to take the IFP online.

This significant reduction will allow a higher number of students to begin pursuing their study abroad dreams from the comfort and safety of home.

4. Study the IFP anywhere, anytime

To begin the online IFP independently, you will need a computer with a stable internet connection, a pair of headphones or earphones, and resources to access the required reading list. Beyond that, you are free to curate a study experience that works best for you.

Another sure benefit of the online IFP is that you can attend classes and complete your assignments from anywhere in the world, regardless of your time zone.

In this way, young people from all over the world who wish to study in the UK will be connected by their shared goal. They will not only gain an introduction to the UK higher education landscape but also begin building a global network of like-minded individuals.

5. Get familiar with the UK higher education system

Upon completion of the online IFP, graduates receive the global equivalent of UK school-leaving qualifications.

If you come from a different education system, this experience will help align your qualifications while gaining perspective on what awaits at university.

In addition to the core course tuition (600 hours), BIC provides one-on-one course support for all students who require extra help. On top of that, you can receive guidance on UCAS application; tuition for English as an additional language (EAL) and IELTS; and industry insights from guest speakers, amounting to a further 200 hours during the study period.
