Indian students can now apply to study at the University of New South Wales via its The Future of Change Scholarship program

The 60 different scholarships will vary in terms of the fee waivers offered, from a complete fee waiver to those ranging from  AU$5,000-10,000, exclusively to Indian citizens, New Indian Express reported.

“We’ve just  developed an Indian strategy that has a two-fold approach – one, to attract high-quality students, and two, to deepen ties in research with institutions of excellence here and with corporates.,” Amit Dasgupta, UNSW’s India country director UNSW said.

There will be ten scholarships with AU$10,000 fee waivers for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, while there will be 50 scholarships with AU$5,000 fee waivers available for only postgraduate students.

“We are also offering a complete fee waiver to one exceptional student, in a course of his or her or choice,” Dasgupta said.

Last year, a female art and design student from Bengaluru was the lucky recipient of the full scholarship.

“Bengaluru has a very strong student cohort. Most mainly go for engineering particularly for information technology and computer science,” he adds

According to UNSW’s website, applicants must be Indian citizens residing in India, not a permanent resident of Australia, have been accepted to a UNSW undergraduate or postgraduate degree program and meet the minimum academic requirement as stated.

Each applicant must also submit a video stating how the scholarship will help them reach their aspirations. Applicants will be assessed based on their academic merit and video submission.

UNSW will announce the successful scholarship applicants in June 2018 and the funds will be awarded in the second semester in 2018.
