Do you want to study science at one of Australia’s most beautiful university campuses, at a world top-ranked 100 university?

The University of Queensland’s main campus, St Lucia, is just seven kilometres from Brisbane’s city centre, and is renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses.

Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, the 114-hectare site provides a perfect study, research, and living environment.

You will enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant modern campus with the tradition of an established university.

St Lucia’s beautiful sandstone architecture, parklands and lakes encompass world-class teaching and research facilities. These include Queensland’s largest research library and fully equipped laboratories and lecture theatres.

The campus has landscaped grounds, three lakes, an aquatic centre, tennis courts, eight athletics ovals with a 600-seat grandstand, and facilities for elite rowing.

The campus fans out from a 1930s, heritage-listed sandstone Cloister enclosing the heritage-listed Great Court.

Bachelor of Biological Science student Barani Ganpathi of Switzerland said he chose to study at UQ due to its reputation as a research-intensive institution and its high ranking in Biological Sciences.

“I also chose UQ for its location,” he said.

“It is located in Queensland, which is a state that is biologically diverse. This was the perfect blend I had been looking for.”

Barani, who is a Brisbane International Student Ambassador, said he loves the wonderful weather in Queensland.

“It did not take me much time to feel at home in Australia, mainly due to its liveliness and its multiculturalism,” he said.

“It was very easy for me to make friends as people were approachable, warm and welcoming.”
