Coursera free courses now available to all college and university students worldwide

Coursera free courses now available to all college and university students worldwide

In the early months of the COVID-19 outbreak, Coursera made its full course catalogue available to every university that had to close down. As of June 1, Coursera free courses are available to all students of higher learning institutions around the world.

Any undergraduate, graduate or recently-graduated student can sign up to do any course for free.

According to Shravan Goli, Chief Product Officer of Coursera, over one million tertiary-level students are already turning to Coursera to continue their education in the pandemic.

“Nearly 70% of the world’s students remain impacted by campus closures due to the coronavirus. Among them are hundreds of millions of students in colleges and universities around the world. While on-campus education is interrupted, learning must continue,” Goli wrote in a statement.

What can I study?

Coursera free courses on offer cover a wide range of topics from business and technology to healthcare and physical sciences. This allows students across disciplines to continue their high-quality education from anywhere in the world during this global crisis.

Then, you can choose from over 3,800 courses, 150 Guided Projects, 400 Specialisations, and 11 Professional Certificates on the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) platform.

Courses will be delivered by experienced professors from the world’s top universities, including the University of Michigan, Yale University, and Duke University. Duke University had previously piloted Coursera free courses using Coursera for Campus.

The best part? Upon completion of the chosen Coursera free course, you will receive certification which can be converted into credit at your college or university.

Plus, you can sign up for as many courses as you like.
