Fit Education International (Australia) has launched certificate and diploma programmes for international students keen to become fitness instructors and sports professionals.

Founded in 2018 by two-time amateur South Korean boxing champion Dundee Kim, the institution aims to provide students with real-world training, job opportunities and mentorship.

Students based in Malaysia seeking to join Australia’s fitness industry are the target of this cohort.

Kim said the institution has always been passionate about delivering the best education to its students.

“Our programmes go beyond just teaching fitness, as we equip students with practical training to become job-ready fitness professionals,” he shares.

How Fit Education is helping international students achieve their fitness goals

Fit Education is a nationally registered education institution accredited by the Australian government.

It offers a comprehensive programme — highly practical paired with good theoretical learnings — that prepares students for employment opportunities once they graduate.

The programmes will include:

  • Certificate III in Fitness
  • Certificate IV in Fitness
  • Diploma of Sport (Coaching)
  • First Aid and CPR.

The Diploma of Sport will open pathways for students to pursue degrees in business and sports development.

Fit Education also has articulation arrangements with Griffith University and James Cook University.

In these programmes, students will study under highly skilled professionals within the industry.

Many have worked with teams such as Australian Wallabies, Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Reds, Brisbane Bullets, North Qld Cowboys, and London Irish Rugby.

To date, the institution has successfully mentored more than 5,000 fitness professionals and helped launch careers globally.

“At Dundee’s, you train with the best there is to offer,” says Kim.

“We have trained world-class athletes — Olympians and even former WBO welterweight world champion Jeff Horn who defeated former world champion Manny Pacquaio in 2017.”

What kind of jobs can students apart from fitness instructors?

Fit Education facilitates working opportunities for students, including gym instructors, group fitness instructors, personal trainers, and other related training businesses.

Other pathways include sports coach, high-performance coach, sport development manager, talent manager and programme developer.

With these options, students can earn between 50,000 and 75,000 Australian dollars.

With a thriving fitness industry in Australia, international students passionate about this industry are encouraged to look into these programmes.

Reports state the market size of the fitness industry in Australia reached 1.9 billion Australian dollars in 2023 and is expected to increase over time.
