If you follow reality TV programmes religiously, you may have noticed that the latest series of Love Island UK is currently trending among pop culture enthusiasts on multiple social media platforms — whether it be Twitter, Instagram or Tiktok. Before this year’s launch, rumours that there would be international students represented in this year’s line-up caught the attention of Twitter users.

When the cast was confirmed, it was revealed that one contestant — Davide Sanclimenti, who hails from Rome, Italy — was indeed an international student at one point, and is currently living in Manchester.

He was an Erasmus Exchange student

Sanclimenti’s LinkedIn profile notes that he has a Bachelor’s in Economics and Business Administration from Università degli Studi dell’Aquila and a Master’s in Finance and Banking from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

The 27-year-old also opted to study abroad by participating in an Erasmus Exchange programme and studied MSc in Accounting and Finance at the University of Salford.

The Erasmus Programme provides students with the opportunity to experience a global education.

He is a self-made entrepreneur

According to MetroUK, Sanclimenti owns a business and currently serves as the director for S Deluxe Shisha. His business offers an “exclusive shisha smoking experience” — providing “only the finest” hookah products to restaurants and nightclubs.

He reportedly launched it in May 2021. If we had to guess, his business nous were bolstered, thanks to his degrees.

He has the brain to go with the brawn

Aside from sporting a chiselled physique, Sanclimenti is academically outstanding too. The former Erasmus Exchange student achieved first-class honours twice — first for his bachelor’s, and later for his master’s.

His home boasts high ceilings, wooden floors, a modern interior and a large window that offers him expansive views of Manchester.

While not in his luxurious apartment, Sanclimenti reportedly goes on luxurious trips worldwide and documents them on Instagram.
