In a video tweeted by CNN, 17-year-old Oludamilola Oluwadara Adekey, or Dami as she is known, was crying while doing a happy little jig.

Her reason? Getting into 19 out of the 20 of the world’s most prestigious universities she applied to.

The student from Barton College Abu Dhabi attributes her good fortune to a mix of hard work and family support.

And what a load of good fortune it was – Among the list of schools Dami got into were: Stanford, Yale, Columbia, McGill, London School of Economics. She’s yet to pick one to go to.

As for what she’s planning to study, Dami said:

“I’m still undecided but I might do a double major in international relations and economics.”

But music is where her passion is at.

“I’m very involved in music at my high school. I’m in three musical groups and I started a fourth,” she told the news outlet.

News One notes that Dami joins the many black students celebrating their acceptance into the prestigious Ivy League group of universities. Last December, videos of several black students at TM Landry College Preparatory, a private high school in Breaux Bridge went viral after it showed them shocked at finding out they had been accepted to schools such as Harvard and Stanford.
