It’s only natural then that many are keen to experience the University of Liverpool for themselves, and increasingly to do so on their own terms, to fit around their lifestyles. The International Summer School (ISS) offers this flexibility of opportunity.

Geared towards undergraduates wishing to study abroad for a short period of time, this is a flexible programme with modules across different disciplines. This way, students can work closely with university academics, as well as a cohort of international classmates to pursue topics that inspire them, in an in-depth, personal, and academic manner.

Liverpool offers a three-week or six-week ISS programme in June and July. Students can build their own programme that helps them reach their own goals, all whilst being in a diverse and academically inspiring environment. Flexibility is built in: students can select accredited five or 15 credit modules to specialise in one academic area, or choose to mix and match. From looking into sustainable development goals to exploring the increasingly relevant topic of fake news, the ISS offers something for everyone. It’s the perfect solution for any student seeking to diversify their portfolio, meet international friends, and spend their summer in an intellectually stimulating – and fun – way.

Take in the glorious sights of the university’s red brick facade amidst a gentle summer breeze, lie back and enjoy the green grounds in between classes, and live in authentic student accommodation on campus. It’s a classic British campus experience that many graduates talk about decades on.

That’s not to distract from the university’s excellent online ISS programme. Learn through interactive lectures, tutorials and informal sessions and benefit from full access to the university’s offerings, from library and email access to wellbeing services.

On top of that, there are virtual tours of the city and cultural highlights, guest speakers, and opportunities to meet the faculty before the beginning of the programme.
