U.S. teacher wears same outfit for yearbook photo 40 years in a row…

You know when you find that one, perfect outfit that suits virtually any occasion and totally makes you look fine?!

Don’t you just love it when that happens…

Because Dale Irby, a PE teaching legend from Prestonwood Elementary in Richardson, USA, definitely found his signature look – and what may have started as a funny wardrobe mishap, wound up as tradition that lasted 40 years!

“I was so embarrassed when I got the school pictures back that second year and I realised I had worn the very same thing as the first year,” he told BoredPanda, but it was actually Irby’s wife who made light of the situation, noting how hilarious it was that he’d managed to sport the same polyester shirt and coffee-coloured vest on the exact same day in 1974 as he had in 1973.

In fact, Dale’s wife thought it was such a funny coincidence, she even dared her husband to wear the same thing for his picture the following year. And so a tradition was born…

“After five pictures,” he said, “it was like: “Why stop?””

And boy, Dale are we glad you didn’t…
