“Since graduating from the University of South Australia, I’ve grown into an independent, committed and confident new graduate who I could have never imagined to be in the past. Most importantly, UniSA made me realise that there are no traffic jams along the extra mile! Thank you, UniSA, for giving me such a great journey and sharing your knowledge and experience!”  Jennifer Zhou, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) graduate

Intently focused on global engagement and enterprise, the University of South Australia (UniSA) teaches 32,000 students on the principles of equity and excellence. As the largest higher education provider in the region, UniSA has been ranked 24th and awarded a five-star rating in the 2016 QS World University Rankings for institutions under 50 years old, with 97 percent of its research output being rated world-class or above in the most recent report for Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015, by the Australian Research Council.

Placed among the top two percent of universities worldwide according to the Reuters Top 75: Asia’s Most Innovative Universities for 2016, UniSA’s commitment to high student attainment and graduate success is more than clearly evident. Collaboration and partnership with more than 2,500 companies around the globe has led to promising employment prospects and the University also believes that its esteemed reputation is largely determined by the quality of its graduates. In fact, the professional potential for UniSA students surely speaks for itself, with UniSA ranking in the top ten nationally for full time graduate employment according to the 2017 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT).

“I was glad that I made the decision to study at the University of South Australia. They have a very good balance between studying theory and hands-on experience from an early start, which is very crucial for my study. The quality of the teaching staff was excellent. I received very strong support from the lecturers, tutors and also the teaching staff in the laboratories. Their compassion for teaching has made a big difference in how I learnt.” – Kelly Nguyen, Bachelor of Nursing

UniSA offers an extensive range of more than 200 degree-level subjects, with each course providing real-world industry experience through placements, industry projects, fieldwork and work experience, instilling students with qualities that are increasingly sought-after by powerful global employers. 74 percent of UniSA’s staff hold Doctoral-level qualifications or above, ranking the institution within the nation’s top 10 in terms of teaching quality.

All programs are delivered by academics who are experts in their respective fields. Disciplines include: Business and Law – with the UniSA Business School standing as one of only 167 business schools worldwide, and one of just nine in Australia, to be accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS); Education, Arts and Social Sciences – with the School of Art, Architecture and Design landing in the world’s top 100 in the most recent QS University rankings; Health Sciences – in which UniSA ranks within the world top 50 for Nursing; and Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment – with UniSA’s research into Electrical and Electronic Engineering rated well above world-class in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015 report released by the Australian Research Council.

Built on the pillars of accessibility and cultural diversity, UniSA hosts a vibrant and colourful student population, with talented alumni finding success in all four corners of the globe. The University is diverse in culture and seeks to enhance the learning experience through harnessing this diversity while ensuring equality for each student,” explains Muhammad Reefath, an international student from Bangladesh. “The University of South Australia has many international students and aims to integrate local and international students engaging in learning activities, such as group work and tutorial discussion as well as through multicultural events.”

The University offers a number of scholarships to celebrate student achievement and support each unique study dream. In line with this mission, two new scholarships – the Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship and the International Merit Scholarship – offer a considerable reduction to the cost of tuition for all eligible recipients who meet the selection criteria.

And on top of all this, UniSA students reap the rewards of living and studying in Adelaide; ranked the fifth most liveable city in the 2016 Economist Intelligence Unit’s Liveability Survey, and listed among the Top 10 Regions to Visit in 2017 by the Lonely Planet Guide. As a stunning, clean city surrounded by serene parkland, pristine beaches, and the tempting hills and valleys of Australia’s premier wine district, there’s no better place in the world that combines a small-town sense of community with the vivacious activity likened to a national capital.

“I ended up in Adelaide by sheer chance and fell in love with it instantly,” says international student Shoaib Gill. Adelaide is a calm, serene city with the infrastructure and facilities that parallel major cities of the world, yet it is free from the hassles that big cities have. It is convenient, accessible and easy to move around in. It is the perfect city for students. My love affair with Adelaide is in its fifth year and I won’t trade it for the world. Adelaide is home.”

Match all this to the fact that the cost of living in Adelaide is 19 percent cheaper than Sydney or Melbourne, and seven percent cheaper than Brisbane or Perth, it’s clear that the University of South Australia is the ideal destination for students seeking an outstanding and unforgettable learning experience.
